Cst. Krista Carle

Passing of Regimental #43412, Constable Krista G. Carle (Retired)

1965 – 2018

Suddenly on Friday, July 6, 2018 in Sooke, B.C.

Ms. Carle joined the RCMP in 1991 and served in “K” and “E” Divisions until her medical discharge related to PTSD in 2010.

Ms. Carle spoke out publicly along with other female RCMP members and Veterans respecting a culture of sexual harassment within the RCMP.  She was a strong and vocal advocate for change and a supporter of the class-action lawsuit against the RCMP related to discrimination based on gender and sexual orientation, intimidation and harassment in the workplace.

The suit was found in favour of the appellants and as part of the settlement, Commissioner Robert Paulson issued a public apology to the victims in October 2016, and the Government of Canada committed to adopt measures to change the  organizational structure of the RCMP.

No information on any memorial service has yet been publicly disclosed.
